Muddy Mekong

Hello and happy sunday!

As promised, today we have travelled to southern Vietnam. However, this photo has moved away from the hustle and bustle of Ho Chi Minh city down into the Mekong delta. Accessible mostly by small river boats, the Mekong is the lifeblood of the region. I travelled along the Mekong in a small boat, checking out the bustling and lively river markets and activities, before staying the night at a homestay over the tributary shown in the picture above. This included lively local music from our fantastic hosts, a well used rope swing into the river (it might look murky, but it is safe to swim in) and the choice of sleeping in a bunk bed or a very comfortable hammock. The added benefit of this homestay was the unbelievable views of the sky at night due to the lack of lights.

Are you a fan of hammock sleeping? Ever wished to visit Vietnam but not sure how to go about it? Let me know and i will post more photos of the country, and maybe persuade you to pack your bags and become a jet-setter! See you tomorrow, where a mystery snapshot of another country shall be revealed. Until then, keep travelling!
